Friday, the 8th, I saw Duran Duran in concernt. Oh. My. God. The crush I had on Simon LeBon was immediately intensified and multiplied a billion times over. That man is amazing. Duran Duran is amazing. That concert was amazing. I was less than 20 rows back, dead center and I kept my eyes on Simon most of the time. How could I not? I've had a crush on this man since 1982! Anyway, they played most of the big 80's hits (including "Hold Back the Rain" which is one of my favorite Duran songs) as well as a bunch of the new ones off of Astronaut, their new album. I'd have to say the highlight of the show was when they played "Chauffer" and Simon came out dressed in this great black outfit topped off with a chauffer's cap. That vision alone was enough to spawn a lifetime of Simon-induced fantasies. Sigh.... No offense to Robert Smith and The Cure but Duran Duran just bumped them down a notch on the best concerts ever list. Duran Duran now hold the number 1 and 3 spots on that top three list. Damn that Simon LeBon, yumm.
In more serious news, my sister had surgery on Monday, the 11th, to remove the cancer from her body. The surgery went well and it will be a week before we get the lab results, showing if the cancer was more widespread or if it was just that one, contained location.
My boss has pissed me off Monday, Tuesday and today. If he pisses me off tomorrow too, it's resume-update time, baby.
that was then - this is now
