So my sister has been diagnosed with Papillary cancer, and while that's the most curable form of cancer, she still has a nasty case of it. She's scheduled for surgery in about a month (the soonest she could get in) and the surgeon will just take our her thyroid gland.
So again, please say a prayer/special thought/ritualistic healing chant or whatever it is you do, for my sister's wellbeing. And thank you again.
In other news, I'm going to California in May for my Dad's 70th birthday party. It will be good to see my family again. When I first moved east I didn't mind not seeing them all the time because I'd grown up with them. But after being on the east coast for 15 years (this May), it sort of got to me that I don't see half of my family that often. So it's nice that we've seen each other a lot over the last year or so.
And speaking of family, my brother is due back from Afghanistan around late June/early July. We're all excited for that and hope he makes it home safely.
What else? Oh yeah, I'm fighting between the bank and the auto finance company about an extra car payment that cleared my account. The bank says it's the finance company's fault while they in turn blame the bank. I don't really care whose fault it is, I just want back my 600 bucks. (That's car payment and several overdraft fees which I received when the extra car payment posted into my account and wiped out everything I had in it.)
Now, in other not so happy news, I'm off to the dentist soon for a cleaning and, if necessary, a root canal. I've got this problem tooth in my upper right jaw that's been hassling me for some time now and we've tried a few different remedies and it looks like it just might be time to kill the damn thing. Although the idea of a root canal is not appeasing, it's got to be better than when I had all 4 wisdom teeth out at once... Right?
that was then - this is now
