I just had a great weekend.
I had the weekend off from the part-time job so Saturday morning I slept in. Then I got up for a bowl of cereal in front of the TV with the dogs. And we slept some more. Then we went back upstairs. And slept again. It was a lazy, day off of nothing doing. Ahh, the relaxation of no expectations, nowhere to be at any particular time, no deadlines. Nothing but grape nuts with raisins and DIY shows on TLC. Finally, after Jeb got home we dined on take-out from Ledo's and I drank my bottle of Peche Lambic with dinner and we just chilled. I wish every Saturday was like this.
Sunday morning I woke up early, because I'm just not used to sleeping in that much in one weekend, and watched TV. When Jeb woke up later we did a bunch of work around the house, moving furniture, hanging pictures, redecorating. It was great.
There was a point earlier this year when I thought I would lose Jeb and the life we had together. But this weekend was another solid brick in the rebuilding of our relationship and it was wonderful. We moved furniture, we cleaned, we worked together on OUR house, that WE live in. And it was wonderful.
This has probably been one of the best, if not THE best, weekends for me this year.
that was then - this is now
